The Hermitage Museum is one of the major museums of the world, an important and grandiose architectural complex that has one of the most important art collections. The museum was founded in 1764 by Bartolomeo Rastrelli.
Today, the Hermitage boasts over 2.7 million exhibits and displays a diverse range of art and artifacts from all over the world and from throughout history (from Ancient Egypt to early 20th-century Europe).
